Emergency Compliance Service will prepare site-specific and colour coded Emergency Procedure Flipcharts. Your flipcharts will be a summary version to your facility’s Emergency Response Procedures.
Certain industries have a legislative and/or policy requirement to implement Emergency Procedure Flipcharts:
Health Care Industry
ECS specialises in the delivery of site-specific services to all health care organisations including:
- Aged Care Facilities
- Nursing Homes
- Hospitals
- Day Procedure Centres
- Ageing, Disability and Home Care Accommodation
The NSW Health Policy Directive, PD2010_024 Fire Safety in Health Care Facilities requires mandatory summary flipchart or poster providing brief procedure details fire and emergency responses as well as other internal emergencies. The flipchart is required to be colour coded as identified in Australian Standards AS4083 Planning for emergencies – Health care facilities.
The Policy Directive requires a copy of the flipchart to be located at each staff station and throughout the facility for easy access by all workers.
Childcare Industry
ECS provides site-specific services to suite all childcare facilities.
The Education Care Services National Regulations states:
“The approved provider of an education and care service must ensure that a copy of the emergency and evacuation floor plan and instructions are displayed in a prominent position near each exit at the education and care service premises, including a family day care residence and approved family day care venue”.
- Evacuation Diagrams are the equivalent to Emergency Evacuation Floor Plans.
- Emergency Response Flipcharts are the equivalent to Emergency Instructions; however, this does not negate the requirement for a centre to have an Emergency Plan.
